Another rewarding thing is this simple but full of flavor Mango Lime Dipping Sauce. At just about 5 ingredients and 5 minutes prep, you couldn’t ask for more. This is a two-part recipe. I did a guest post for the awesome Eazy Peazy Mealz. Initially it was a shrimp recipe with accompanying dipping sauce, and is now two recipes on both of our blogs. You can read the other part of my recipe here, Easy Blackened Seasoned Shrimp.

The dipping sauce is an ideal pairing for shrimp, fish or chicken. You can even get creative and use it as a topping for sweet dishes. Imagine vanilla ice cream with with a sweet and tart pairing of mango and lime. It’s perfect for a warm summer day or cozied up on the couch. If you go that route omit the garlic, salt and pepper. Cumin adds a bit of spice that works well no matter how you use this sauce. Another perfect summer recipe paired with a sauce is these Barbecue Cumin Chicken Kabobs with Peanut Lime Dipping Sauce.

Fresh ripe mango is best for this recipe. However, frozen mango is a great option to enjoy year round if they aren’t in season. Completely defrost mangoes and drain excess liquid before using. You may have noticed I used a lemon in the photography. You could substitute that for lime if needed. I used limes, but found the color of the lemon worked best for the photography. This Mango Lime Dipping Sauce is healthy, vegetarian, vegan and gluten-free. A guilt-free dipping sauce or topping for any occasion.

Cooking Tips: An easy way to cut mangoes

There’s a simple way to cut mangoes. For one, a mango cutter will help you easily get the pit out. Otherwise cut vertically down both of the narrow sides of the mango to release from the pit. Then cut lines roughly ½-inch apart in both directions to create a grid patter in the meat. Push the center up from the bottom to curve mango in opposite direction, opening up the squares. Now simply cut the squares from the bottom of the skin. The photo above should help.
