This peppermint martini is like drinking a candy cane and perfect for holiday gatherings or just a cozy winter drink, especially when paired with Prime Rib with Potatoes. With only a handful of ingredients and minutes of prep, it’s a great way to spread holiday cheer.
Peppermint Martini ingredients
- Vodka: Use a good quality spirit such as Wheatley Vodka for smooth flavor
- White chocolate liqueur: Adds cocoa flavors and a sweetness
- Half and half: Makes this drink rich and creamy
- Peppermint extract: A little bit goes a long way to add peppermint flavor
How to make a martini
- Fill a cocktails shaker halfway with ice
- Add all the cocktail ingredients, seal, and shake vigorously for about 30 seconds.
- Strain into martini glasses and serve immediately with Sugar Cookies-this simple buttery cookies provide a nice balance to sweet and minty drink.
What vodka to use for a martini
It’s best to use high-quality vodka in any martini. It constitutes the majority of the cocktail, so a smooth, subtle flavor is best.
Wheatley’s unique distillation process guarantees an ultra-smooth taste that’s great for cocktails or sipping on its own over ice. It’s distilled 10 times in a one of a kind copper micro still and then triple filtered. This Award Winning Vodka is developed by a true craftsman. Get Wheatley Vodka Here.
Tips for making a martini
- Use high-quality alcohol for smooth taste like Wheatley Vodka
- Fill a cocktail shaker halfway with ice
- Shake vigorously for about 30 seconds, or until the outside of the shaker starts to frost. This will create tiny ice crystals in the drink.
- For stronger flavor chill alcohol in the freezer so it dilutes less
- Chill the martini glasses ahead of time by placing in the freezer
- Garnish the glasses with fine sugar, or in the case of this Peppermint Martini, crushed peppermint

Substitution Suggestions
If you find white chocolate liqueur you can substitute extra vodka and add simple syrup to sweeten the drink.
For dairy-free omit the half and half or substitute with almond milk. For sugar-free or low carb, substitute the white chocolate liqueur with vodka.
Substitute half and half with eggnog for extra sweetness and an even more festive drink.
