Summer grilling might be one of my favorite activities around food…besides eating it, photographing it, writing about it, talking about it, and of course, making my Grilled Salmon Kabobs recipe. Okay maybe it would be better to say I love everything about food, and grilling is one part of that.
Now that we have that cleared up then next challenge was how to eat healthy, while still enjoying grilled foods, and more specifically burgers. These Wild Pollock Fish Burgers with Mango Guacamole will take care of that issue easily.
Seafood is an important part of my new healthy diet, so it’s only natural to eat it in burger form-like my Sesame Salmon Burger– to keep things fun and tasty! Let me tell you…you won’t be missing your traditional burgers. It’s mild in flavor and naturally packed with omega-3’s, which have the health benefits you probably know about by now.
Fish burgers have 178% less fat and 94% less calories than beef burgers. These are light and fresh while being quick and easy to prepare. After cooking, assemble in burgers as you normally would. For these pollock burgers I went with homemade mango guacamole. Rich and creamy avocado, mango, lime, red onion and spices. This recipe is full of healthy fats and nutrient dense. Prepare in a whole-wheat bun, or lighten it up even more and go protein style! Even the fish burger and guacamole is a healthy, satisfying meal.
Why is fish healthy for you?
Fish and seafood are low in calories and packed with lean protein. My Ahi Tuna Bites are a perfect example. Plus it’s loaded with Omega-3s, which can significantly improve heart health, brain function, mental health, vision, and memory. Numerous studies have also shown that Omega-3s can help fight diabetes, inflammatory bowel disease, Crohn’s disease, Alzheimer’s disease, dementia, and possibly even cancer. So enjoy your seafood and heal your body while you’re at it!

I LOVE fish burgers (especially since I don’t care for red meat burgers ;). I’ll be looking for this brand next grocery trip. And that avocado mango spread is right up my alley! Cheers!
